What is the Main Cause of Heel Pain?
Heel Pain is most commonly caused by a repetitive strain injury to the muscles and fascia attachment on the bottom of the foot at the calcaneal bone. Is walking good or bad for Heel Pain?
While a few minutes of walking upon arising may help to reduce immediate sensations of heel pain temporarily, you may notice that any attempt to walk or run any great distance can bring on even worse pain. We recommend limited your weight bearing activities until the pain subsides. Take a break from running, jogging, jumping & HITT workouts or field sports. Monitor your daily step count and try to keep that number under 5,000 steps a day until you start feeling better.

What to Expect On Your First Visit?
Your initial appointment will last approximately 30 minutes. Please bring with you 2-3 pairs of your usual footwear choices, as well as a prescription for custom orthotic footwear if required for reimbursement from your extended health care provider. We will provide a Postural & Foot Examination, a Diagnosis & may Prescribe Custom Orthotics to fit into your favourite shoes.
Provincial Insurance does not cover the cost of custom orthotics. It’s your responsibility to cover the cost and contact your extended health care provider regarding any extended coverage you may have. If you require custom orthotics, payment in full is required prior to manufacture. We accept cash, debit, VISA, MasterCard and America Express. Once we receive your custom orthotics, we will call you to book a dispensing appointment to fit your footwear. The dispensing appointment is usually within 2-3 weeks of your initial assessment, only takes 10-15 minutes & at no additional cost.
